3M / Venture tape paint protection film (PPF) was originally developed for the Military in Desert Storm to prevent damage to helicopter rotor blades as the sand in the air would destroy the rotor blades with a sand blasting effect leaving the helicopters grounded and the rotor blades being replaced at a dramatic rate.
The paint protection film (PPF) protected the integrity of the rotor blades, the result from this technology allowed pilots too feel more secure about piloting through sand storms and everyday air time. Result: the paint protection film protected one of the army’s most valued air assault machines and prevented limited down time.
